Homemade Pizza Seasoning
Homemade pizza seasoning is my latest condiment recipe. As a prepper and homemaker, I am always looking for great DIY recipes. Spice mixes are expensive, and oftentimes I already have everything that is needed in my pantry. Why not save both time and money by making it myself?

Have you tried making homemade pizza seasoning? Come on in and let me teach you how! It is so easy and you’ll love it!
Homemade Pizza Seasoning Ingredients
Oregano, 4 tablespoons
Basil, 2 tablespoons
Thyme, 1 tablespoon
Fennel, 1 tablespoon
Paprika, 1 tablespoon
Onion Flakes, 1 1/2 tablespoons
Garlic Flakes, 1 t1/2 tablespoons
Sea salt, 1 tablespoon
Black Pepper, ½ tablespoon
Red Pepper Flakes, ½ tablespoon
Rosemary, ½ tablespoon
Homemade Pizza Seasoning Directions
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix well. Then transfer to an airtight container. Mason jars are my go-to for storing spices.
Using a food processor or spice grinder, grind to a fine powder consistency, and use as desired.
That’s it! It is just that easy! Anybody can make this homemade pizza seasoning recipe. You don’t have to be Betty Crocker to make it. I love recipes where someone’s culinary skill level doesn’t matter in making something.
Store this homemade pizza seasoning in a cool and dark place until you’re ready to use it.
Recipe Notes
As I said earlier, you’ll want to grind these spices up before using them, as they are in their whole form still, and that will help them keep fresh longer.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do and is something you’ll use often in your household!
Why I Love This Recipe
I love this recipe because it is so easy to do. I buy my spices in bulk and save the containers once I’ve emptied them for reuse.
Buying bulk spices and then making my own mixes at home saves me a ton of money, and it will for you too. Think about it. All you’re buying is someone else doing ten minutes worth of work by measuring out a few spices for you. That’s it.
This recipe is also vegan, and the perfect base for vegan lasagna! Even if you aren’t vegan, it is a great base for any recipe that calls for Italian seasonings of any kind. It can easily be modified based on preferences as well. That is the beauty of making your own.
Spice mixes are the perfect project for small kids just learning in the kitchen and wanting to help. They learn to make things from scratch, while spending time with parents or grandparents, and may inspire their love of cooking later on down the road as they get older.
As a prepper, knowing how to make things myself is a huge skill and asset to myself and family. We’ve seen many supply chain issues during Covid and since, and the grocery stores are often out of things I normally buy. Knowing how to make a simple spice mix myself saves the time of trying to substitute something in a recipe or even wasting the time of going to multiple grocery stores.
Homemade spice blends also make excellent gifts during the holidays. Add a neat ribbon or twine to the mason jar and a label, and that’s all it takes for a beautiful and really thoughtful gift that anyone and everyone can use.

There is no reason to buy this pizza seasoning in the store when it is this easy to make myself! It’s so much cheaper too. Thanks for such a useful recipe.
